There was a time when photography was captured on film. There was no way of knowing what was on that film until it was processed and developed. Because of this, photographers would put hours of training time in not just on how to make the perfect exposure but also the fine art of composition and finding or producing the perfect light. This knowledge was a must because they had 10 maybe 20 exposures on their roll of film to not only get it right but to get it perfect.

Then the digital era was born. With that came literally millions of new buffs with a camera with that no knowledge of the things we talked about earlier. They would lift their camera, point it in the right direction and hope, look at the picture on the back of the camera and try again till something looked right. Still the knowledge is not there.  Because I was one of those photographers that made photography a passion way before the digital era, I did study hard to get all the elements right.

I was so fortunate to have my father and also my brother as great teachers, both being Master’s of Photography. Not bestowed on themselves but earned and presented to them by the Professional Photographers of America. Because of that we all went on to be award winning photographers excelling in our craft. Sadly our father is no longer with us but his legacy lives on in my brother John (www.jmarionphoto.com)  and I. We still create images the way of the Masters. So when it comes time to put your trust in a studio to capture your families legacy, choose photographers who come from legacy, one that wants it perfect maybe as much you. I can promise you this.
